Brass Bibcock Types and Parts

Brass bibcock is a type of water tap that allows you to turn the water supply on and off. It is widely used in bathrooms, kitchens, and toilets.
Bibcocks can be made from both plastic and brass. The latter is preferred in the food industry due to its rust and corrosion-resistant properties.
There are various types of bibcocks and their parts differ in terms of design, size, and price. They are also available in different colors.

Finish - The finishing of the brass bibcock is crucial for decoration and aesthetic purposes. An antique finish is usually appealing to aesthetes.
Backflow preventers - Bibcocks are commonly installed with backflow preventers to ensure that water does not flow in the wrong direction. Bibcocks with this feature come with springs that close the tap when there is a pressure drop and valves that open to let out the backflow of water.
Aerators - These are small screens fixed at the base of the bibcock. They are designed to reduce the amount of water coming out by mixing it with air.
Thread brooks inside - A leaky bibcock is a sign of a problem in the pipe connections. If the bibcock leaks even after carrying out repairs, you should consider replacing it with a new one.
